I have had an abiding love for cricket from the time when I was 6 years old. My first memory of the game is Lillee and Thommo pounding the Poms in 1974/75. I remember learning about the sport’s rich history in the lead-up to the Centenary Test in March 1977. And then I saw the future of the game I loved when I embraced Kerry Packer’s World Series Cricket later that very same year.
Since then, friends and family know not to interrupt me when Australia is playing a Test Match, particularly when the Aussies are batting.

I’ve been writing for The Roar since September 2018, in the wake of the sandpaper scandal, and have since attained Guru Status.
